Commissions

Just like you would commission a portrait painting, you can hire me to create a modern-style portrait for you using the medium of digital photography.

These portraits are highly stylised and personal. Unlike wedding photos, pet portraits, or commercial photography, my portraits are designed as singular pieces of artwork to be displayed as wall art.

I like to work closely with each individual to try and best understand what makes them tick. I like to convey a sense of the person in each portrait through location, position and technique. These portraits are what I would describe as ‘portraits within their landscape’. Much like old oil paintings used props to show the occupation or hobby of the individual being painted, my portraits demonstrate this through multiple images layered together.

For each portrait I’ll take 200-300 photos and then combine the best 40-50 in Photoshop to create a layered portrait over time.

Costs

With such a variance in options and materials, final costs cannot be listed, but I can give you an example of a typical commission.
.Up to 3 location visits for a range of lighting conditions.
.Time for post processing a selection of 3 images for choice.
.Time for preparation of chosen image for print.
.Supply exclusive signed one of a kind A2 giclee print on archival grade fine art paper.

*Based on location being within 15 miles of Bristol, Avon. Mileage charges apply after. Print supplied unmounted and unframed rolled in a cardboard tube and either hand delivered or posted recorded delivery.
